Midrail

Midrails reside inside the inner portion of a commercial aluminum storefront door and is the width of the daylight opening, "which is the width of the glass". Midrails come in a variety of heights, typical heights are between 2 - 5 inches. Storefront doors can have as many midrails as the daylight space opening will allow; however, it is important to remember that glass is to be installed between the midrail so allow enough space between each midrail for glazing "glass".

One good reason for having midrails installed onto your storefront doors would be to have less glass to replace. Example: If you've got one storefront door with one midrail installed right in the center, now you've got two pieces of glass becuase your glass is separated by the midrail. If a rock from a mower breaks one of the glass you've still got one good piece of glass; therefore, the portion of glass that you've got to buy is smaller than buying replacement glass for the entire door.

Example Usage Of Storefront Door Mildrails

  • Hide Panic Bars, Keeps Walker-Byers From Viewing Panic Bars On Interior Side Of The Storefront Door
  • Save On Glass Replacement
  • Architectural Design Viewing
