Stock lengths are the aluminum vertical and horizontal portions of the aluminum storefront system. Some filled openings span great lengths and could require glass or solid panels on the left, top, and the right side of the storefront doors. This glass is held in place by stock lengths, which is the aluminum framing material .

In its simplest form a thermally broken stock length is:-
The same extrude aluminum as non-thermal; however, the thermally broken aluminum is cut right down the middle of the stock length and fixed back together with a non-energy transfer material; moreover, when installed the cold from the outside would not transfer to the inside.

Thermally broken stock lengths are typically used in the northern part of the USA, or in extreme cold areas of any given region.
